While you are staying in Cairns, a visit to the
World Heritage Rainforest is a must.

There are a few tour operators offering excursions to the Rainforest, one of them is "On The Wallaby". They visit the Atherton Tablelands which is famous for its waterfalls and wildlife. The Daintree National Park is one of the few areas in the world where two World Heritage areas meet, The Great Barrier Reef and the Tropical Rainforest, with beautiful white sandy beaches hugging the coastal mountains. You can take a cruise down the Daintree River looking for Saltwater Crocodiles and other native animals, or visit The Great Barrier Reef. There are some great deals for one day or overnight tours.
